Kevin Mitchell has inspired different people, from all walks of life, over many years in many different ways; principally through local and national Scouting and Mountain Rescue. Kevin is an Explorer Scout Leader and Team Leader of the Ochil Mountain Rescue Team. Having made his way through Scouts, he found that there wasn't the opportunity to carry on through to attempt his Queen's Scout Award. He therefore decided to set up a Venture Scout Unit to provide this opportunity to other young people. The program of adventurous activities offered to young people has been unrivalled with young people inspired to take part in Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Mountain Biking, Mountaineering, Canoeing/Kayaking, Camping and many others thanks to Kevin having instructor-level ability in countless outdoor pursuits. Kevin has continuously encouraged young people to try something they would never otherwise attempt, regardless of ability. Numerous Queen's Scouts have been produced by his Scout unit, including 10 in the same year! He has trained and inspired members of Scottish Scouting to the summits of Mounts Elbrus, McKinley, Aconcagua, Cook, Kilimanjaro and Everest. Kevin has dedicated himself to Scouting for many years and continues to be an inspiration and role model to young people in his local community and beyond.
