Ken, now 90, as a young man was a top runner for his school and the army. His war years were mostly in the Middle East intercepting enemy messages. He still listens to Morse code to keep his speed up! His war contribution was recently recognised by the Prime Minister. For many years he voluntarily assisted schools and Scouts with camping trips. After retiring, he and a friend fulfilled an ambition to walk coast to coast from the Lake District to Northumberland. He is still a regular walker although a little slower now. He still plays badminton regularly with an over 50's club. A keen music lover, he, his wife (now deceased), and friends entertained groups, such as senior citizens, with music hall turns. He plays the piano accordion and he has composed some good songs himself. Enthusiastic in all he does, he is cheerful, thoughtful and always helpful.
