Ken Allday

(Commercial North East and Cumbria - St Cuthberts Hospice)Ken is a shining example of aninspirational hospice volunteer. After his wife died at St Cuthberts Hospice, Ken became an ambassador for the charity, raising funds and raising awareness. In just 18 months, Ken has been influential in many campaigns, encourages others to get involved with the charity and speaks passionately at events encouraging others to help. In Nov, aged just 6 months shy of 80, Ken will travel ot Australia to embark on a brand new challenge - climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In just a few weeks, score of people, many of whom didnt know Ken, have been moved bu his determination and have donated to the challenge. Ken said 'If you love something, you'd go to the other side of the world for it and that is exactly what I'm doing - going to the other side of the world for the hospice'.
