Kelvin's nomination story

I am so delighted to have the privileged to take part in the London 2012 Torch Relay. This really is a dream come true for me. For a number of years I have been involved in my local community as a School Governor and Group Scout Leader. I started my involvement with the local community school where my child attended, helping to improve the educational facilities for the children through various building projects. Having loved being a member of the Scout movement in my youth, when my local Scout Group was looking for a new Group Leader I decided to dedicate my spare time and energy to this role. Our Scout Group has gone from strength to strength with membership number increasing, a new HQ built and a Minibus purchased. Our Scout Group reaches out to all our local community, including families in the nearby estate who are financially deprived. My involvement has encourages others to give their time for the benefit of the children.
