Kelly's nomination story

Kelly is a truly inspirational and passionate PE Teacher who has revolved her life around bringing happiness to children through sporting activities. Years of volunteer work include involvement with Step into Sport, Youth Sport Trust, YHA, Toplink. Kelly has even been to Lusaka, Zambia 3 times (2 times with Loughborough University, once she paid for herself!) to coach underprivileged children in sport and HIV awareness. Her connections made in Zambia have inspired her and a small group of others to raise over £20,000 and her bonds with the country will remain forever. In her job she works from 6.30am to 10pm most days and wherever possible and her holidays are spent trying to put a smile on someone else's face in whatever volunteering sporting programmes available. Kelly won't stop until she has every child smiling; she is a leader, an educator and most importantly a trusting friend to every one she comes into contact with. Her passion clearly shines through in everything she does; usually recognised in her infectious smile! She has also applied to work with the Volleyball activities as a Gamesmaker in 2012 which would be a dream come true but I believe her passion and commitment to sport and children would really deserves recognising through holding the Olympic Torch. It would not only be great testament to the years she has dedicated but it would also inspire all the people she has ever come into contact with; all of whom would really regard her as a special person.
