Kelly is a very community minded person and is keen to help educate people about issues close to her heart. At the age of nine she climbed Schiehallion mountain and raised over £300 for cancer research. She has run twice in the 5km children's cancer run. She takes part and helps to organise events to send shoe boxes to poorer countries. In school, she helps to run an eco-schools group to improve the local environment and the student coucil to ensure that the views of pupils are heard. She also gives up her time to act as an unpaid maths tutor. She volunteers at the local care for the elderly. She has also run a successful anti-speed campaign in her local area which has resulted in improved safety in her home village - and for this was awarded a Citizen of Excellence award and is currently completing her silver DofE award -quite an ahievement for anyone, let alone a fifth year student!
