Keith's nomination story

I have known Gussy in a professional capacity for 11 years. He is a qualified football coach and gives up many hundreds of hours a year to coach children & young people. Gussy is an extraordinary person - he is a father and husband & yet still finds time to volunteer. Gussy, always a keen sportsman, wanted to put something back into the community. He has been a volunteer with Brent schools football association for 25 years & has seen hundreds of boys coming through, some have gone to play in professional football clubs. This year gussy has coached the under 13 team for Brent & they have had an excellent season - they won the league, the London cup & the 11-a-side tournament played at hackney marshes. Gussy is taking a day off work to take a team to a tournament with 32 other London boroughs. Irrespective of the result I know they will have all had a great experience & will want to continue playing football and sport because of gussy`s positive influence. Last weekend gussy gave up 4 hours on fathers day to organise a football session at a community event for boys and girls who do not normally get the chance to play. On top of this gussy is also a dj at a local radio station and a scout for qpr football club. I sincerely think that Gussy should be given the opportunity to be acknowledged for all the hard work he has done as a volunteer so he can continue to inspire young people.
