Kay is a key member of the Girl Guides in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. She has been a life long member of GirlguidingUK and now, only in her early twenties, she voluntarily runs a Guide unit every MOnday night and fulfils her role of District commissioner, co-ordinating after Guide, Brownie and Rainbow units in the local area. This is all done whilst studying at college near Dyce and working weekends at the local dairy firm - Mackays. Here she looks after the livestock, calving and lambing, clearing out the sheds in the snow.
She has recently organised and passed her Leaders camping permit, inbetween academic exams, so the Huntly Guides can go away on holiday in the future. She works hard as a leader to enable the girls of the local area to blossom and grow into considerate independant young women.
