Katrina Doyle

Katrina was diagnosed with Leukaemia at 7 years old. She volunteered for a 26 month medical trial for treatment, posing possible risk to her, but if successful paving the way for other children suffering in future to have a shortened treatment. Katrina is a keen actress. There were occasions during treatment when she would have an operation under general anaesthetic in the afternoon, and perform publicly in Pantomime hours later, never missing a performance! Katrina suffered hair loss from the chemotherapy. When her hair grew back she chose to dye it bright pink to raise over £2500 for the ClicSargent Children's cancer charity. Katrina never complained about her illness, despite her discomfort. One huge disappointment for her was missing an arrangement made especially for her to run the last 100 yards of the London Marathon. She was unfortunately taken ill beforehand and was in hospital on the day.
