Katherine's nomination story

Katherine. my mother, is a wonderful inspirational person who has undertaken 13 trips abroad to mmuch poorer countries to live and help the people there she has also brought clothes, books baloons pencils toys for the children she has helped in Rwanda three times India three times Nicaragua, Bolivia Bosnia/Serbia (after wars) Madagasgar and the Nazareth hospital in Israel and also cycled from Sea of Galilee to Dead Sea to Red Sea raising £2000 for intensive care equipment for Nazareth Hospital which was being funded at that time by Edinburgh missionary society and also visited the philipean island of Palawan where she helped to demolish a bamboo building rebuilt as a medical centre and painted all the wood then flew into the jungle in 4 seater plane landed on the grass airstrip waded across the river to live with tribal people in village and helped them. in all places she has either painted Schools Orphanages Medical Centres Churches ploughed with oxen weeded planted worked in a pineapple factory everthing by hand cut pineapples machinery one table top juicer boil juice pour by hand into bottles label by hand. In bolivia travelled high into the andes in a jeep no proper road cross five rivers drive up dry river bed lived with the Quechua people helping there with health care My mother has great photos and stories a lovely interesting person to carry torch
