Kat Langton

Katherine is an 19 year old, inspirational wheelchair racer who has struggled to combine an ambition in Media with her racing. Currently a media student at Northunbria University she continues to train, coached by her Mother. She uses a lot of her energies promoting the prifiles of young people within County Durhamas part of Investing in Children and Derwentside Young People's Forum. Since she became a student she has become involved with St John's Ambulance as a first Aider, never allowing her disabilities to hold her back from being a rounded member of society. As a colleague of her Mother I have watched her since she was very young building her stamina enough to enable her to compete. She is going from strength to strength and I think it would be a fantastic boost to her confidence if she gained some small recognition of her determination by being one of the lucky ones to be chosen to transport the torch.
