Katerina is active member of her community. She always tries to find ways to help at her school and in her local area helping old people locally and her schoolmates in her local secondary school. In addition to trying represent her school and local community (Palmers Green) in various musical events locally and nationally (Songs of Praise, Save the Children, MacMillan Cancer Support, concerts for local Noah's Arch), she helps in many less glorious ways. As a good example of less recognised help, when her friend was ill for couple of weeks, she scanned all her school work every evening and send it to her by email, so she did not lose valuable time and educational experience. Previously, when at primary school, in Years 5 and 6 she played a role of mentor helping her schoolmates to improve reading and writing skills. She enjoys activities at her school raising money for various charities. For example, using her hobby of making cakes, she always asks to make lots of cakes for any cake sales both collecting money for charities and for their 'sister' school in Tanzania. Katerina was recently awarded Certificate of Merit by Enfield Association of Voluntary Youth Clubs for her volunteering work.
