Kate Upshall Davis

Kate works for the charity Crisis in Newcastle/Tyne, working with homeless people to help them back into the workplace and more normal life. Additionally, in the last three years she has taken up running, having been very unathletic at school, and has done the Great North Run twice, the Edinburgh half marathon, the New York Marathon and is currently training to do the Great North Swim on Windermere at the end of this month. For the latter she has collected a group of people together on Facebook who go training on a Lake near Richmond every weekend and Kate herself has learnt to do the front crawl swimming stroke just for this event. I know from the comments on Facebook that others find her an inspiration. In her charitable fundraising she has raised over £6000 in a couple of years for her two charities, Crisis and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. I must declare an interest, I am her father, but I have every confidence that others will come forward to nominate her as well.
