Kate's nomination story

Kate has been very inspirational in the sport of Boccia, Kate joined the Nottinghamshire Boccia Club in September 2010, when she first came her confidence and self-esteem was low, her knowledge about the game was very basic, but her thirst for knowledge about Boccia was evident so much that over the last 10 she has learnt new playing skills and developed them in the sport of Boccia, she is captain of a pan disability team playing in a regional league, she has led the team to joint 1st place, she continues to develop and learning these new skills has helped her to develop her confidence and self-esteem greatly, Kate has taken these new skills and used them to encourage other players at the club she attends and has also used them at her own school environment, helping other children to aspire to achieve their own potential, Kate continues to develop as a player and an inspiration to others, she has attended the Boccia Leaders Course so she can learn more and share more with other people. Kate is a real inspiration to all she meets.
