Julie's nomination story

Julie has worked for McDonalds for 10 years, during which time she progressed to the position of 1st Assistant in the Eastleigh Restaurant. Earlier this year she was offered the opportunity to change her role and take responsibility for the Apprenticeship programme and build community links within Tony Bennetts Franchisee group of 9 restaurants. She has worked hard to implement a robust system that helps her manage 34 apprentices. She has completed her first 2 in the last few months and is one sign off away from achieving golden pen status. Her work in the local communities is varied, I have listed below the key headlines: She hosts the weekly Senior Citizen coffee mornings in the Eastleigh restaurant. She works with the a number of local PCSO's in Southampton and Bournemouth, in conjunction with various litter and community projects   (in particular mentoring Anti Social behaviour order teenagers), She Co-ordinated 9 RMHC fundraising events in Sept 11 across her franchisee group raising £1550. She has built strong links with Local schools in a number of the restaurants, that have gone on to support litter events for 'Love where you live'. She has also involved numerous Beaver and Scout groups, helping with restaurant visits, fundraising and litter collection.
