Julie's nomination story

Julie Darwin is an inspirational person, and touches everyone who meets her.At the age of 15 she had an accident in the gym whilst practising on the beam.Julie had aspirations of becoming an athlete and excelled in her sport. The accident left Julie is a paraplegic, and against all odds achieved her mission to attend University in Liverpool, and live independantly. She currently works as a Biomedical Scientist in Cheltenham general hospital. Julie enjoys going to the gym, and has remarkable upper body strength., she lifts weights double her weight! She tirelessly takes part in races to raise money for those less fortunate than herself. Julie would be an ideal person to carry the olpympic torch, as she still follows the progress of athletes even though as only a spectator. I believe a remarkable occasion such as the olympics requires a remarkable torch holder, and Julie fits into this very well.Thankyou for considering this application.
