Julia Rye

Julia is a single mum bringing up three children on her own and works at the local primary school as a meal time supervisor, also helping out with the activity clubs at the school. Three years ago Julia saw a need for some sort of activity for the children in the neighbourhood and formed and runs a youth club called Respect for the 9 to 15 year olds. This is now well established and is seen by the local Council, Police and Residence as an important asset for the community. For this she was presented with the Sussex Bright fm Community Achievement Award for 2010. Julia is also running in the 2012 Brighton Marathon for the Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans, the charity for which she is also an Associate Samaritan, raising much needed funds throughout the year for the charity
