Juan-Fernando's nomination story

Juan-Fernando Gomez is a thoroughly deserving carrier of the Olympic torch. He symbolises what it means to make a real difference in a hard-working, poverty-stricken area of London. Despite working hard at his day job with Santander, he has given up countless hours of his own free time; weekends and holidays to train to be a volunteer policeman. This is a difficult, emotional task which he attends to diligently and a duty which he is rightly proud of. During the recent unrest with the riots in London Juan-Fernando was eager to volunteer his services to ensure that our commnity was protected from lawless criminals. In addition to his dedication to his job, and his selfless commitment to his local community, Juan-Fernando is also a loving father and partner. His family, friends and his local community would be extremely proud to see Juan-Fernando holding the Olympic torch aloft.
