Josh is an athlete at Worcester Athletic Club. Even though he is a successful middle distance runner I am nominating him for his commitment to helping the young athletes. He started helping with the under 11 and under 13 athletic training sessions as his service for The Duke of Edinburgh`s award. Since completing that, over two years ago, he has continued to help on a weekly basis. He quickly became a valuable member of the coaching team showing initiative and capably leading a group of young athletes. He has a great rapport with the young athletes and his sense of humour combined with his relaxed manner make the athletes very much at ease and confident. He appreciates their varied ability & inspires them get the best from themselves. He is happy to take on responsibility and is very reliable turning up to help the young athletes in literally all weathers before he does his own training. He has a sound community spirit. As Josh is actively involved in athletics himself, he is a great role model, even though the younger athletes don`t see the effort and commitment he he gives to his own training, they do see him in competitions. This is where they enjoy supporting him just as he supports them on a weekly basis. He has a huge amount of respect from both the young athletes and fellow coaches alike, he gets on well with all ages, is very popular and a truely significant character in the life of Worcester Athletic Club.
