Josh, is 14 year old young person who has been a very devoted and passionate, creative producer for Under The Town festival, a music, arts and fashion festival organised by young people for young people with Blackpool Arts Service The event was part of Blaze NW for the Cultural Olympics. Funded through Arts Council England, the Legacy Trust and Blackpool Council and the young people's own fundraising.
Since February 2011, Josh has been one fifth of a team of young people working towards their Gold Arts Award. Josh's role in the festival was Fashion and Visual Arts Director and he organised and styled three fashion shows. He arranged to work with a home grown Blackpool fashion label, Shelter the charity and featured extravagant hats created by young people. Josh organised 20 models to be in the fashion show and arranged rehearsal days and a dress rehearsal, makeup and hair styling and choose the outfits for each fashion show. Josh also modelled and danced in the fashion shows and presented on stage to a crowd of over 300 young people.
Josh has worked industriously towards making the festival the success it was, working with the team to make all the decisions on branding, venue, ticketing and lots more. His confidence has grown extraordinarily since the start of the project and he has inspired
