Josephine has dedicated herself to volunteer work over the past four years, with the aim of raising awareness of bowel cancer. Josephine's involvement with bowel cancer stems from her own diagnosis at the age of 35. This is relatively young to be diagnosed, and therefore not detected early enough. In addition to raising awareness in the national press and on television, Josephine has been actively involved in helping reshape cancer policy in the UK, and was invited to Parliament House and a European Conference to speak about, and discuss, the important issues relating to colon cancer patients. She has also given presentations to GPs in south London about her experiences and also acts as an expert patient reviewing cancer services at her local hospital.
