Jose Antonio's nomination story

I would like to start by saying that I have spent all my working life with this company. Apart from my job, I am a volunteer fireman and first-aider. As a sports lover, I belong to the San Adrián Athletics club and the Ribera Mendi Mountaineering Club, but keeping in mind the harder side of life, to which I myself have been fortunate enough not to succumb, I also belong to the El Marinal Association, collaborating in Drugs prevention. I am an habitual participant in local sporting events, because through them we give others the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of sport and friendship as much as we do. I have taken part in countless races, but the one that stands out for me is the marathon, because the constant struggle between body and mind has made me a stronger person. I've run 5 marathons, and have just completed my first 100km ultra trail. It has been a positive experience for me - not only did I manage to finish the race, but I also made 5 new friends. When I put on my trainers and start to run, pace by pace I feel better and better and the dust on the road erases any negative thoughts. I love sport, it's a part of my life. Every time I enjoy its benefits, I like it even more. To carry the torch that gets the Olympic Games underway would be an unforgettable experience. CR
