Jonathon Bamber

Jon is an outstanding member of the public his ability to put others first before himself with out judgement is incredible. After witnessing an act of crime Jon ran after the offenders to catch them and stop them from running away. Previous to this in 2009 he was assaulted by a group of thugs in Northampton and I believe he was very brave to to put himself in the line of danger again to try and help a stranger.'

Just the other day he told me he saw a man lying in a bus lay-by with him mobility scooter fallen over. The man had got to close to the curb and fallen over. Jon was driving past and saw the man helpless on the floor he was missing a leg and couldn't use the other leg. After checking the man was ok he picked up the scooter and then the man back into it. May people passed Jon and not one stopped to lend a hand. I feel if Jon was given the honor to carry the Olympic torch it would be a fantastic sign of his recognition within the society he so selflessly cares for.
