Jonny's nomination story

I am nominating Jonathan because he goes above and beyond the call of duty in his role as volunteer with the St. John`s Ambulance. He gives up his free time, despite working full time as a healthcare assistant for people with kidney disease on dialysis, to administer first aid at public events. Recently after completing a night shift with the St John`s Ambulance and reporting for duty to work on time, Jonathan came to the rescue of a man who was suffering an epileptic seizure at the roadside. This was on his way home from work! He aided the man and put his own life in danger to prevent the man from being further injured in his diminished state. Jonathan is always keen to assist people in any way and has recently become the only member of the St John`s Ambulance in Lanacashire to receive the prestigious Amalfi award for services to his community. He certainly deserves to be a torchbearer having achieved so much in his volunteer work at the meagre age of 19! Most young men his age would not dream of giving their time voluntarily to assist the public to keep them safe and Jonathan carries out his role with care, dedication and enthusiasm. He is loved by patients` at the dialysis unit, always making them smile and going the extra mile. His colleagues believe he is an exceptional young man who is a real team player and always has a smile on his face. Please consider him to be a torchbearer, he would do an exceptional job and would enjoy every minute of it!!
