John's nomination story

John has worked hard for 30 years raising funds for Leaukemia Research of almost £3000 per year. He is passionate about the charity after loosing both his sister and best friend to the disease. Despite now being in his 70s he still works hard for them and also cares for many of his elderly neighbours visiting them daily and doing their erends for them. He has recently been made chairman of the Durham Branch of Leaukemia Research and still think nothing about standing in Durham City with a collection box or travelling to Sunderland to man the tent at the Great North Run. I think he would be perfect for this fantastic oppertunity and would carry out the task with great honour and pride, esspecially coming from a small mining community where he was born and still lives now.
