John's nomination story

John has worked for Thomas Cook for 21 years and, in that time, has raised in excess of £30,000 for the Thomas Cook Children's Charity by completing twelve marathons.

In 2010, John led the south territory employees to raise £40,000, the largest amount put towards the £100,000 total, and won a PROUD award for being 'United as One Team'.

In 2011, John is trying to raise a further £10,000 by taking part in seven different sporting events including three marathons, two triathlons and two bike rides.

When the Olympic Thomas Cook packages were launched, John was a key driver in making sure his Retail team were knowledgeable and supporting of the packages from day one.

Over the years, John has given so much to others and deserves to have his unique spirit honoured by being able to carry the torch which he would do with the utmost pride.
