John Uwins

John is Chairman of West Wickham Football & Cricket Club. The senior club has been providing sport to the community for 100 years however John became involved with the junior club just after it was founded 25 years ago and focused on girls football as well as boys. We now run a football nursery and teams right up to under 18's for juniors and 6 seniors sides as well as a vets team. The club is open to anyone. John is the heart of the club and worked hard to have awarded the FA Charter Standard to the club. John's role is unpaid and he has a full time job which makes his committment to the community and the club so impressive. His whole family are involved in the club and often hold charity events for other organisations. The club is a non profit making organisation and individuals like John, who give up their time for their community, should be commended.
