John's nomination story

John runs Grimsby Freestyle Kickboxing Club. He helps promote health and respect for Children from the ages of 5 right through to Adults into their 40's. Club members have huge respect for John because of the way we all learn not only new techniques, but discilpline, respect, healthy eating and Fitness whilst having fun.

The club has become a great fantastic family orientated center, which usually begins with parents bringing children to learn , but the atmosphere of the place is infectious, and before long the parents are enquiring about adult classes, down to the fact that they can see the good that it is doing for their children.

With the family atmosphere John has many Fund raising events, which involve everyone at the club if they wish to participate.

John predominantly chooses the British Heart Foundation, and over the 2.5 years i have attend the club he has raised well over £10000 for this charity and countless others.

He has personally climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa and completed an Everest Climb all for good causes.

The club continues to be successful because of the good reputation it has gained for its success in Kickboxing but also all the other good work it does for Young people and Charity alike, whilst bringing families together in a common goal of fitness and respect.

John puts tremendous effort into making the club a success, but always with the inclusion of everyones ideas, and it is all down to the great example and role model that he is to us all.
