John Parham

John Parham is a mentor, leader, friend; an inspiration to hundreds of young people throughout Cornwall, has been for many years, and will for many years to come. He is a leader of the the Ten Tors Explorer Unit which coordinates the training of 3 Scout Groups in Cornwall - Devoran, Truro & Newquay for the Ten Tors Challange each year. He organises and runs the 3-4 months prior training (involving training hikes every other weekend and training meetings weekly) and dedicates a huge portion of his time to it. An inspired man, John has a true understanding of the young people he works with, and has helped so many people to achieve dreams, conquer fears and point them in the right direction to a great future. His continued support in youth development is a wondrous thing to behold and I feel carrying the flame will give him an idea of just how many people appreciate what he does.
