John Hamilton

I'm nominating John because of the difference he makes every day to the lives of people in my constituency. John runs two churches in Dagenham on behalf of London City Mission. Through that work he is helping to provide absolutely invaluable support to some of the most vulnerable people in the community. That includes providing food parcels, making home visits to people who would otherwise be isolated, supplying toys to families in need, running four youth clubs in an area where young people desperately need more places to go and things to do and organizing community events to bring people together. I've got to know John over the years and he is an inspirational example of someone whose purpose in life is to help others. It would be particularly appropriate for his contribution to be honoured in this way because he is currently one of three chaplains from London City Mission seconded to the Church of England to work on the Olympic site one day a week.
