John's nomination story

My son John has inspired others to do what he has done, He has been down the dreaded road to ruin with drugs, he lost his kids when he hit rock bottom. He was accepted into a rehab centre in his local area called The New Horizon this centre was set up by Mothers Against Drugs, since starting this programe he is now drug free and has been for 10 months, he has his children back and has a new life, this centre has changed him for the better, he is fit and healthy works out on a regular basis and has taken up running he has just completed a 5k run and he is now running in 4 10k runs organized by polaroid. He runs the football team for New Horizon and they play in the street league tournaments which is other people the same as him, He has inspired others from the housing scheme where we live to join this programe, which they have done and now they are on the road to recovery, he helps with new entrants to the programe he helps with outings and volunteers for everything he can to do with the programe, he enjoys helping others the same way he has been helped. So yes I think he has inspired himself and others to do what he has done and become a role model for others in the position he was in previously. This would make him so proud if he could achive this goal to carry the torch in Glasgow and it would be great for The New Horizon programe to have one of their service users achive this, Think how proud his children would be to see their dad carrying the olympic torch.
