I volunteered to help in all facets of an important company event - planning, content and execution. We did things very differently, including involving more people in the program, creating recognition awards and challenging the presenters to be more entertaining. The result and feedback told us that this was the best event of this type they had participated in. Not only did I learn a lot by taking the initiative, providing leadership, and giving my best, it also benefited others in the process. I look forward to putting those learnings into an even more exciting and productive event next year.
