John's nomination story

Following the loss of his dad to bowel cancer and his friend Pete(age 20)to cystic fibrosis he ran 1/2 marathon for both charities. Following premature birth and loss of his son in 2005 John ran the London Marathon for Tommy`s Baby Charity in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he ran 1/2 marathon for Help for Heroes. In 2011 completed Valentines dip in sea(very cold!) for Clic Sargent and Star Trek for the North Devon Childrens Hospice. Running 1/2 marathon in Sept for Alexander Devine Childrens Hospice in Berkshire (Alexander was a school friends son). John has entered the ballot for 2012 London Marathon. John loves North Devon and running Little and Great Hangman regularly is great training. He is an inspiration to us all and nothing is too much trouble for him. He would be thrilled and honoured to carry the Olympic Torch and I`m sure the whole village would support this nomination.
