The founder of Kirton Kestrels Junior Football Club in 1986, John Beer has worked tirelessly and selflessly ensuring the club's continued success for 25 years, firstly as team manager then as secretary and treasurer. After retiring John was instrumental in gaining the FA Charter Standard for the club's ten teams including the formation of a club's first girl's team. In addition, John took on extra time consuming rolls of pavilion caretaker and groundsman preparing three pitches weekly.
As parish councillor John is an asset to the club and village. Spear heading recreation ground projects including the erecting of floodlights (enabling training throughout the winter), planning and raising £230,000 funding for a new pavilion - which opened in 2005 and now is an village asset.
He's an inspiration to the fulfilment of hundreds of young lives.
