Jo's nomination story

Joanna MacLachlan (nee Griffiths until this weekend just past) has a natural ability to make everyone feel at ease and, through her amazing want in life to ensure everyone she meets is cared for and loved - she is now a fully qualified nurse in a cardiology ward. In the past, Joanna has put much effort into VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) - where she visited Nigeria for 3 months, WRVS (Womans Royal Voluntary Service) in Perth Royal Infirmary, Second Step in Bristol where she trained as a homeless mentor helping with addiction, domestic abuse and mental health issues, and held a position with ARK - In Musselburgh (catering to the needs of adults with learning difficulties). She has a wonderful, caring personality and is held in high regard by all who know her. Joanna is, in our mind, a worthy candidate to carry the Olympic Torch. Thank you R Griffiths
