Jill's nomination story

Jill Newbolt is an inspirational teacher with a gift for working with children but her real care and commitment is obvious in the way she works with children with disabilities. She works at Aston Academy in Sheffield and has organised partnerships with Kelford Special School and others in Rotherham. She organises PE in and out of school which helps able bodied children and children with special needs from mainstream school work alongside students from special schools. She has led teams of able bodied and disabled students in the national competition: The Kielder Challenge. Because of her hard work and commitment, her team has won the challenge. Many vulnerable children have opportunities to excel because of Jill. Jill has played a major role in the development of young sports people in the county as a teacher and has coached South Yorkshire U14, U16 and U18 netball squads. Children adore Jill and because of that they trust her and will try their best. She has worked all her life to make sure that she can help the truly vulnerable in our society and she is always ready with a new idea or a helping hand. She is a single mum of 3 year old twins with a truly positive outlook and a passion for sport and people. She is an enthusiastic, dedicated and amazing person. She is a wonderful colleague and a friend and I can't think of better person to champion sport and the spirit of the Olympics
