Jessie is a hugely admired and inspirational member of the local community. She will be 80 years old this year, yet still spends her time tirelessly supporting McMillan cancer research and other hugely worthwhile causes with unrelenting energy and enthusiasm. She sews hundreds upon hundreds of Easter bunnies and Christmas stocking's each year, with all the proceeds going to charity. This is not to mention all other fundraising efforts such as coffee mornings, village fete's, dog shows, bridge evenings and others. These also help the British Legion, the village hall and the local church among many, many other beneficiaries. The Olympics can enrich, inspire and enlighten people in the same way that Jessie is able to. This begins with the the torch relay, that has the power to inspire local communities collectively, thus necessitates unsung heroes like Jessie to carry it along the way.
