The person I am nominating is my cousin and friend Jessica. She is 6 months younger than me yet so much more accomplished. Jessie was born with Cerebral Palsy, yet in knowing her for nearly 23 years I cannot think of a single time she allowed this to prevent her from completing what she wanted to do. She has always succeeded in being the best she can be. There are many times where I can imagine being in a wheelchair would have made me acrimonious and doubtful, but Jessie never displayed any of these emotions. As an accomplished individual and scholar, Jessie completed a BSc in Mathematics and is about to complete her MSc in Mathematical Medicine and Biology before pursuing her PhD in Nottingham. While completing her studies she also finds time and energy to travel back and forth from Nottingham to London and Devon to see family- a journey that is both time and energy taxing. I honestly cannot think of anyone that better represents the same strive and fight for success and fulfillment that athletes will during the London 2012 games.
