Jed's nomination story

Jed has run 10 marathons for charities such as Epilepsy, Heart Foundation, and hospital ICU`s. He has raised tens of thousands of pounds. As a serving Police Chief Superintendent, he formed the Essex Police Marathon team whilst raising awareness of good causes and promoting community relations with the Police. He led the marathon team and all ran in full uniform whilst collecting monies on the way round, as well as the many pledges. He has continuously served the people of Essex, and has been integral in many high profile policing operations and has always received the full support of the Chief Constable. The safety and well being of the communities he has worked in has been paramount whilst genuinely aiming to raise money/awareness for the charities. He motivated and trained the team in all weathers, and after long hours, worked. He has been an inspiration to his colleagues in Essex Police.
