Living on an Island everyone knows someone who has been effected by misfortune, whether it be cancer, mental health or debilitating disease so it's a way to support those charities locally which need every penny they can get to continue. Small amounts spent locally can make a big difference to the community. Their unselfish efforts have probably touched hundreds of people without asking for any thanks or expecting any praise.
