Jemma's nomination story

Jemma volunteers with a diverse number of community groups on a regular basis as a Leader/Young Ambassador/support worker through Park High Sports College outreach programmes, Wirral, Merseyside. She devotes every evening to supporting sporting activities that changes lives of young people and is a real role model who commits at least 10 hours a week to helping others.

Her volunteering and interpersonal skills have been instrumental in the development of young people and implementation of the following programmes; Foxfield Adventurers Club (young people with complex special needs), Action Amal Group (women and children alienated by cultural or religious constraints and have barriers to accessing physical activity), Visually impaired climbers group, Family Activity Nights and Tea Dances for 55+ age group. Her dedication and commitment for others improved the quality of life for the young people of Wirral

She is an inspiration to all that she comes into contact with. She has supported the young people from Action Amal in writing a Youth Opportunity Fund bid and helping them with their panel presentation. This presentation showed the results of Jemma's hard work helping the young people access sailing, scuba diving and canoeing.

Jemma is a worthy candidate to receive this opportunity to become a torch bearer as she has put so much back into the community at such a young age. CR
