I am Nominating My Dad. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease several years ago at a reasonably young age and has fought it ever since with absolute strength and determination not to let it beat him. Despite losing his job which he had since leaving school because of his illness he has managed to become a self employed gardener and general handy-man helping everyone young and old in his community. there are days where he seriously struggles but will still be out in the village mowing an elderly persons lawn or trimming a hedge rain or shine. He is not only the strongest person I have ever met, but has still been there to help and support me and the rest of the family whether it be in sporting activities or in life in general. He has always been a keen sports enthusiast but can no longer partake in such events, but will still come and support me when playing sport or at any time where i may need it. The people who speak to me about my dad will literally tell me how strong and level headed he is and how kind and generous a man he is to anyone who may need his help. This I do not need reminding of as I see it every time I see him. He will never say no to anyone when asked for a favour, even if it means waking up at 6am to start doing a job and being out until 11pm finishing it. I'm nominating my Dad as he is a perfect example of strength, positivity, determination and community spirit which I think needs to be shared to everyone and recognised as an example to people today.Leave out the section ' which he had since leaving school'
