Jed's nomination story

Jed is an amazing young carer for his mum, she is waiting for a double organ transplant (kidney/pancreas). Jed has been looking after his mum for the past 5 years, mum is also a diabetic and Jed has first hand experience of dealing with diabetic hypos and knowing how to save his mums life which he has done on severaloccasions without giving it a second thought, Jed just goes into action knowing what to do or when he needs extra help from the emergency services, he takes it all in his stride. Jed goes to his local young carers group and loves to share his experiences of being a young carer with other school children and teachers at training sessions, young carers are a very unrecognised group of children and Jed loves to help in making people more aware of there needs. Jed has struggled with coming to terms with his mums illness and has found school very difficult vut has gone on to be nominated by his school for a tryangle award for his determination and dedication as a young carer. Jed does not brag or boast about his bravery and we feel this would be a good way to show him and the country what an amazing job young carers do.
