Jay's nomination story

Jay Lelliott is a 16 year old, currently ranked 7th in 200m butterfly and 100m backstroke in Britain, no mean achievement as this young man only learnt to swim competitively for his club after undergoing two major brain operations to remove a tumour when he was 12 years. The word 'inspirational' that Jay exemplifies in his swimming arouses in others a heartrending courage that he has undoubtedly had to endure through his formative years. His unassuming nature is matched by his positive determination to succeed, to accomplish with style and in respect to his fellow competitors, this characteristic has endeared him to all who train and compete against him. In his training he aspires to perfection on every set, every day. The opportunity for Jay Lelliott to carry the 2012 Olympic Torch could not be more apt as his main target is to swim for his country in the future Olympics.I was 13 when I underwent two brain operations. Everything else is correct.
