Jas's nomination story

Jas has contributed almost 700 hours a year to his volunteering projects, which allow community engagement and inclusivity in sport. Jas is Vice-Chairman of Concorde Rangers FC, a multi-cultural youth development football club under the British Airways banner; he has been instrumental in developing a partnership programme with QPR FC to tackle community under-representation in professional football. He recently came up with the concept of a player development centre in partnership with premier league club QPR and the local West Middlesex and Hayes Youth league. This project, a first of it's kind in the UK, aims to raise the standard of grassroots football and to form a link between grassroots and professional clubs youth academies/centre of excellence. Additionally, young teenagers wanting to become professional coaches have the opportunity to be mentored by QPR's professional coaches. This programme is intended to be a long term, sustainable education curriculum. Jas was the catalyst in bringing this project together and delivering. Has been endorsed by the FA. Jas also acts as a Race and Equality advisor for the Middlesex FA and National Asian forum. He also has the title of youth development officer for the West Middlesex and Hayes youth league. His passion and dedication in making a difference to youth development has been praised by British Airways giving him volunteer of the year award for last 3 years. He keeps going from strength to strength with no let up.
