Jane Robinson

Jane is the ideal candidate for this honour as she is an exceptional role model and epitomises the Olympic Values through ALL of the suggested areas of: sport, community, leadership, commitment and other school based activities. Jane is both a respectful and a respected young member of our school and wider community. She was nominated by staff and pupils to be a Prefect last year and this year she has recently been selected as School Captain. Her Leadership skills have developed through this role and her experiences in completing the CSLA Level 2 Sports Leaders Award and as a 2012 Gold Young Ambassador last year, and the projects stemming from this years Platinum Ambassador Conference. In sport Jane has experienced and enjoyed a wide variety of activities, gained her Standard Grade PE qualification and is currently doing Higher PE. She has represented & captained the school Gymnastics Squads at Regional & Scottish Schools Competitions (and will do the splits whilst carrying the Torch if asked!!) She has also been awarded the J'aime Kerr Gymnastics Trophy in both S4 & S5. Jane's coaching experience includes working with Badmintonscotland delivering sessions to Primary children, and she continues to coach our Level 1 Gymnasts and junior Netballers. She received our Coaching Award last November from Prince Edward at the International Badminton Championships and helps out with other events such as the Junior Great Scottish Run. She also participated in last years Lead 2014 Conference. Jane also demonstrates an excellent community spirit in other activities, notably with the Charity work of the school which fundraises for at least one charity a month. She is a great supporter of Children in Need, The British Heart Foundation, Radio Lollipop etc, etc. Jane is enthusiastic and motivates others for these events and can always be relied upon to assist with any requests and tasks, including dressing up as SpongeBob Squarepants for the Children in Need Street Collection!
