Jamie Stalker

"Jamie is the brother of GB Boxing's Olympic medal hope, Tom Stalker. The two are very close and Tom regards Jamie as one of the key elements of his support crew that helps him to deal with the challenges, pressures and ups and downs of being an elite international athlete and Olympic medal hope. They help Tom to keep his feet on the ground when he has had success and pick him up when he has had to face disappointment.

A talented boxer in his own right, who has represented England, Jamie regular trains with Tom when he is back in Liverpool at weekends (Tom trains in Sheffield from Monday to Thursday). The pair often go out running together and often train in the gym. Jamie has also followed Tom to competitions around the world and is one of his biggest cheerleaders.

Tom regards Jamie's support as critical to the success he has had in recent years and believes that there are many other people, who are the family and friends of Olympic athletes, who have performed a similar role in providing a vital support network to many Olympians over the last four years. It is for this reason that Tom would like to nominate Jamie - both as a thank you for the help he has given him personally and in recognition of all those family and friends that provide support and assistance to athletes every day of the year and are always there for them.
