Jamie's nomination story

Jamie was born with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy and is a wheelchair user. Jamie competes in the sport of Boccia. Jamie won the Disability Sport England 2010 junior championships. Jamie won silver at the British Championships in 2010. He is the Scottish Champion in Boccia in 2011. Jamie is currenlty waiting to hear if he has been selected for the GB squad for 2012. Jamie is very committed to his sport of boccia and trains hard every week. This includes staying behind after school 2 nights a week to do 2 hours training. He travels to East Kilbride on a Wednesday to train with the GB boccia team and also attends all scheduled training weekends with the GB team. Jamie is an excellent role model to his peers and is an example that commitment to a sport will enable you to excel.
