Jamie's nomination story

Jamie was born with both his feet twisted up to his knees and hasundergone many operations since he was eight weeks old and spent many months in plaster. Sadly Jamie was found to have cancer aged 6 years and went through 6 months of intensive chemo. He lost all his hair and suffered some bullying when he returned to school. Jamie is now 19 years old. He said that he had been given a second chance at life and wasn't going to waste a minute of it! Jamie has gone on achieving everything he said he would, passing 10 GCSE's and 2 A'levels, work experience at DLR and London Underground, receiving an award for his support to younger pupils, becoming Head Boy at his school and many other achievements during his time at school. He is a fantastic role model to others, his attitude to life holds no bounds, he works hard to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way and refuses to let anything get him down. Jamie is an inspiration, kind, caring, charming and brave. He is a STAR!!!
