Jamie's nomination story

Jamie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the tender age of 20; she had a bilateral mastectomy and had to endure 6 months of grovelling chemotherapy and radiotherapy. She was an inspiration to everyone with her courage and determination. Even on her poorly and low days she kept her spirits as well as those who loved her. When her treatment was complete she returned to her job as a health care assistant at Walsall manor hospital. She then successfully applied for a post on the chemotherapy unit and now she prides herself by giving back the extra mile in the unit and helping patients emotionally due to her own experience. The staff are very proud of her and always remark that she is such an asset with her compassion and cheerfulness. Jamie would be proud and privileged to be carrying the Olympic torch. had to endure 6 months of grovelling chemotherapy change to had to endure 6 months of gruelling chemotherapy
